My reading year was feeling bleh and had to make some changes to help things turn around and it's been going good. I agree with reading down my own shelves because it is out of control, really had to curb a lot of impulse buying habits. Favorite reads so far have been Alpha of Bleak Isle by Kathryn Moon, Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase, Rebel by Beverly Jenkins, Bringing Down the Duke by Evie Dunmore, Daggermouth by H.M. Wolfe, Maid for the Duke by Viola Thorne, and A Lady for A Duke by Alexia Hall. Currently reading The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare and loving it!
I've also been feeling a bit meh with my reading at mid-year after a stretch of poor attention for the past few months (though Star Shipped was one of the last books to really grip my attention – so good). Things have been looking up recently though, and I'm intrigued to grab The Jade Temptress from your list!
I have also loved THE PARIS MATCH by Kate Clayborn, A LADY AWAKENED by Cecilia Grant, and STAR SHIPPED by Cat Sebastian. Looking forward to NO MATTER WHAT by Cara Bastone.
I think I'm getting better at DNF'ing when I'm not enjoying something, which was one of my goals. I also finished reading all of Cat Sebastian's backlist, so now I just want to reread them all. :)

Lord of Scoundrels is so good!!!! I read it last year and was obsessed.

Jeannie Lin is excellent, especially if you're looking for historical romance that feels different and fresh!

That sounds like such a fun reading project! I'd like to read all of her backlist eventually.
La Cage Aux Folles seemed really fun, was bummed to miss on my last visit. I hope you like Small Island (there's also a tv version once done)!
