I've always wondered, how do you have time to do all this reading? Do your eyes hurt? Where do you get the books? I'd love to see a post about your reading habits.
I love when I see people reading Doomsday! So many jokes I wanted to make in 2020 about this book, like "Who let the department of history use the time machine again????" but no one would get the joke except two people I knew (the one who made me read the book and the one I made read the book).
“Shattering” is the right word for Doomsday Book, i get shivers every time i see someone else talk about reading it for the first time. I’m so stoked my hold on The Bright Sword came in today! Had you read any of Grossman’s stuff before? i enjoyed The Magicians, the whole series, but more because Grossman was such a wizard with words, the actual content was soooo grim
Oh, it absolutely wrecked me. I was reading it on an airplane and had to keep it together so I didn't get strange looks from my seatmates, which was a real struggle. And I've read and loved The Magicians trilogy! Although I had to read the first book twice to really fall for it--the first time, I struggled the whole way through and then four or five years later, I loved it.

It's amazingly prescient! I'm now on a mission to make more people read it, and only partially because I want to talk about it so badly.

Love the idea of reading through romance history!
I really want to have a deeper understanding of the canon! And I think it'd be so fun to see how the genre's evolved over the decades.
Hi!
Love your recaps, as always.
What is the title of the “Very fun, with the tiniest of quibbles” book?
This Will Be Fun by E.B. Asher! I've updated the post too.
